City by the Sea
Discover Vlissingen
Vlissingen is the boulevard and the boulevard is Vlissingen. This harbour city on the Westerschelde boasts the longest sea promenade in the Netherlands, from where you can all but touch the passing ships.
The centre of Vlissingen is just a 25-minute stroll from the Westerschelde Ferry. Along the Groene Boulevard you can enjoy a stunning view of the Westerschelde. You’ll walk past the Oranjemolen and Uncle Beach, where the Allies landed in 1944 during the Battle of the Scheldt.
If you’d rather not walk, you can also choose to be dropped off in the centre by Zonnetrein Zeeland or the Connexxion bus.
