The best ride to the centre of Vlissingen
This harbour city on the Westerschelde boasts the longest sea promenade in the Netherlands, from where you can all but touch the passing ships. The centre of Vlissingen is just a 25-minute stroll from the Westerschelde Ferry. If that is a little too far for your taste, Zonnetrein Zeeland can take you to the centre.
You will find the Zonnetrein stop at De Punt, a 5-minute walk from the ferry and just on the other side of the locks. The modern solar train offers views of the Westerschelde as it travels along Groene Boulevard past Uncle Beach and the Oranjemolen, to the centre of Vlissingen. The Zonnetrein schedule is lined up with the ferry arrival times.
You can add to your ferry and Zonnetrein combo with a city walk around Vlissingen or lunch with Flammküchen at Gastrocafé Santiago. For the City Walk and Gastrocafé Santiago, please alight at stop 4 of the Zonnetrein.
